For our first destination, we went to Minamata Disease Museum, and watched a video regarding the cause of Minamata Disease. After watching the video, I could understand more about the disease.
We headed to Minamata Disease Information Centre, where there were pictures of some patients with severe symptoms. After browsing through the pictures, we went into a room where there was a lady whose family had passed away due to Minamata Disease. She spoke about her family members and admitted that she had mixed feelings as she could only feel sad and not do anything about stopping the company from discharging the mercury into the sea.
The last destination for the day was Eco Net, where we had learnt how to use cooking oil to make soap. I was amazed that we can use the used cooking oil for soap making. There was also a video about an experiment about non-synthetic detergent and synthetic detergent with fishes placed in two different tanks. After watching the video, I realised that synthetic detergent kills.
