The next stop was the famous Kumamoto Castle. Like most castles, this castle has a moat too. We had an elderly gentleman and lady as our castle guides.
The highest castle was 6 stories tall. The steps were steep, narrow and small. But the view up at the highest point was worth of the effort. The view changed as one walked from window to window at the top.
