Trip Activities

To ensure that this learning journey is fruitful and enriching for you, you will be required to engage in various activities before, during and after the trip. The details are as follows:

Prior to Trip

(1) Students have to do a major project to showcase what they have learnt and experienced from the trip. The project titles are shown in the table below. Students will group themselves (4 per group) and select the project title that they want. Each group will need to do research on the internet on the topic and the places of interest and prepare a powerpoint presentation to present to the rest of the groups. Target Date of Presentation: 15 May Saturday 9 am

During the Trip

(2) Reflection logs to be written everyday during the trip. Students can note down their reflection logs in their A4 exercise book and student's handbook. Students are to share their reflections during debrief session every night with their tour mates. After the trip, students are to summarise all their reflections and type out a 1-page reflections report. The font type will be Arial and font size 12 with single spacing. Students are to email the softcopy to the teacher-in-charge, Mdm Lu Yen Ling (lu_yen_ling@moe.edu.sg). Target Date of Submission: 7 June Monday 9 am

(3) Students are to gather more information on their project titles when they are visiting the various places of interest. Students must take photos and/or videos to be incorporated into their projects. Information can be written down in the A4 exercise book along the journey.

(4) Students have to complete evaluation forms on the trip on their flight back to Singapore and submit to the teacher-in-charge. The evaluation forms will be submitted to MOE.

After the Trip

(5) After the trip, each group has to submit a softcopy of report on their project titles. All reports must be typed and binded. In addition, each group should also prepare 1-2 big display chart(s) for their project titles. The display charts have to be nicely decorated, with pictures and words which adequately describe the places of interest they have visited. All reports and charts will be displayed at the booths setup during the school's Science Week in July. Worksheets have to be designed to complement the display chart(s). Powerpoint presentation which was earlier prepared by students before the trip has to be tidied up and updated copies will also be run on laptops at the booths. Groups may be required to man their booths on the day of display. Target Date of Submission: 21 June Monday 9 am
