Takamori High School is situated 550 meters above sea level in Kumamoto Prefecture, Kyushu, Japan. The school is surrounded by the biggest volcanic caldera in the world and has a breathtaking view of nature. There are only 113 students in the school, so it is kind of a small school.

The students study for “Kounai kentei” after entering the school. This is the school's original test. It includes 3 subjects - Japanese, English and Math. And it was from the there are 10 grade levels for each subject. Every day the students study at least 1 page at home. After taking the exam, the results are quickly announced so that the students can prove their ability easily.

In summer, all students will use various instruments and cheer hard to help the school’s baseball team win.
A class match is held in Takamori High School in summer and spring every year. In summer, the students play volleyball or softball for boys and basketball for girls. Then in spring, the students play kendo and soccer for boys and play volleyball or basketball for girls. The team which wins the championship goes to compete against the teachers' team. After finishing all matches, a prize ceremony is held.
