Today was a tiring day. Today we went to Minamata memorial Monument. It was hard to believe that so many people have been affected and some even died because of Minamata disease and the company that cause this is still running until today. The government had to do so many things just to keep the mercury away from the people. From my understanding, the place is still contaminated with mercury and dangerous. But it looks nice and is a good place to pass time.


Next we went to the Minamata Disease museum. We get to understand more about Minamata disease and the effects that it causes. At first, I thought that Minamata disease was a kind of common flu but it is a disease that is very deadly. After the speech from one of the Minamata disease patient's family member, I realized that Minamata disease not only affected the patient, it also affected the family and the people around them.


After that, we went to the Eco Net to make soap. It is made from recycled materials. One of the main reasons of Minamata disease is because of waste. So they want to recycle the waste.
